What exactly is going on in the world today? global warming? poverty? HIV?

We focus so much on our own puny problems we forget to think about others.

So this post is going to people facing poverty and HIV.

I was in the train the other day looking at an advertisment. i cant remember the hotline but it was something about conquering your fear of HIV patients. Not fear of getting but fear of other ppl. Infected people.

We fear so many things in life. yet we take forgranted the life we all have.

Stop and think of the many wonderful things you have in your life. your pretty clothes. your never ending supply of food. your clean water. your comfi bed. Things that we can do without but yet we seem to be unable to live on without them becasue we are so sheltered we forget how bad this world can really get.

We get angry. Frustrated. Irritated at the simplest of things. Sad over stupid occurances. We find it hard to get over some facts of life.

We have to find a way to pick ourselves up. for what? to move on? we forget we will move on in time.

Have we ever taken a second to think of how the people in poverty or infected with HIV feel and live? Sometimes it's not even their choice. It's not even their doing. They're paying for the sins of others and of people close to them.

But then we seldom think of them right?

We dont unless we are reminded. and yea sure it affects us but only for that short amount of time. then we're back to wallowing in self pity for things we brought upon ourselves. things that are not comparable to poverty or HIV. but we forget and continue to compare them to hardships each of us encounter.

Well. that advert really got me thinking. The only thing that upsets them is the fact that people are afraid of being close to them. But they're always ok. like when i say i'm always ok. They're ok becasue they have one another. and they are pretty sure their life is a life well spent.

How many of us can actually say something like that? HOW MANY?

go figure.

i remember at pri 3 i signed on with world vision. Adopting a kid who was around the same age as me. He was african american. Or rather he is. I used to donate a dollar a month. and that would last him that whole month. A WHOLE MONTH.

there's no precise point i'm trying to put across here. just that we all need a little reminder of how great our life actually is. and that there are people suffering out there.

life will get better. you think you're going through a rough patch? think of them. and think of their smiles and fulfilment in their eyes when they hold their family in their arms. it'smore than enough for them.

MORE than ENOUGH.
